Baldwin HS Marks Meth Awareness Day With Mural

The non-profit Hawaiʻi Meth Project will unveil its third Maui installation of the “Not Even Once” Mural Project at Baldwin High School on Thursday, Feb. 26, as part of Meth Awareness Day.

A freshly painted mural by Oʻahu-based artist, East-3, was created with the “Not Even Once” meth prevention message in mind.

The mural project was launched to bring brilliantly painted anti-meth murals to schools across the state.

Maui Mayor Alan Arakawa will deliver remarks during the unveiling ceremony. The event also includes a lunchtime rally in the school’s courtyard, which will be led by Baldwin High School senior and Hawaiʻi Meth Project Teen Advisory Council member McKayla Wandell.

The school’s peer education program will join the Hawaiʻi Meth Project in providing games and activities to educate students and encourage them to live a meth-free lifestyle.

The Maui Police Department will also send a SWAT team to do a demonstration for students as part of the days events.
