Playing off the “Wizard of Oz,” the Maui Family YMCA will hold a community support campaign kickoff event on Friday, March 13, with the theme “There’s No Place Like the Y.”

The public is invited to participate in the event, which aims to continue the YMCA’s services for the Maui community.

The event will feature Dan and Claudia Goodfellow as campaign chairs, as well as a special appearance by the “Mayor of Y Land.”

The Maui Family YMCA creates a space for kids to play and do homework after school, for seniors to connect through exercise and group activities, and for families to learn how to eat healthy and grow together.

This year, the nonprofit Maui Family YMCA hopes to raise $150,000. Financial gifts will help to advance programs and services that support youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, and will directly impact residents in the community in a positive way.

“This year’s campaign should be a lot of fun and with the support of our community, we hope to reach our goal,” said Goodfellow.

The Maui Family YMCA is located at 250 Kanaloa Ave. in Kahului. For more information about the campaign or to make a financial gift, contact Mike Morris at (808) 242-9007 or [email protected].
