Gas prices are creeping back up over the last week statewide, according to the AAA Hawaiʻi Gas Watch as of March 12, 2015.

In Wailuku, the average price of regular gas rose five cents to $3.21 per gallon, holding steady from last month. The current average is $1.08 less than the same time last year.

Throughout the islands, average gas prices rose six cents since last week to $3.14 per gallon of regular gas. The estimate is a ten cent increase from last month and $1.01 less than a year ago, according to the report.

“While the past three weeks have seen price increases, gas price averages are still much less than they were a year ago,” said AAA Hawaiʻi General Manager Liane Sumida. “Average gas prices for the mainland have stalled or risen to the high $2 a gallon range.”
