Lānaʻi Landfill Partial Closure on Saturday, April 4

A staffing shortage on the island of Lānaʻi will result in the early closure of the landfill facility on Saturday, April 4, 2015.

Officials with the County of Maui Department of Environmental Management say the Lānaʻi Landfill will close at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday to ensure safe operations.

Department officials say the early closure is necessary so that the department meets the minimum State Department of Health operating requirements of the County’s solid waste permit.
