DK Trucking pulled the vessel out of the area on Thursday, April 23, 2015.

The two Makawao men aboard, ages 25 and 28, swam to shore and were uninjured in the incident, according to Maui Fire Captain Edward Taomoto.

Fire officials say the two men spent the day fishing and were on their way back to Māʻalaea in South Maui when the vessel ran aground.

At the time of the grounding, authorities said the vessel still had 100 gallons of diesel on board

Dawn Lono, a district staff member for Council Member Bob Carroll in East Maui confirmed the removal, saying the vessel has since been hauled out of Hāna.

Officials with the state Department of Land and Natural Resources were expected to release information later today relating to the salvage effort.  A request for comment from the US Coast Guard on Thursday was not returned.
