Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event Scheduled for May 16 and 17

The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management will host a collection event for Household Hazardous Waste on Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17, 2015.

An appointment must be made in advance to participate, and materials to be disposed of must be disclosed at the time the appointment is scheduled or they may be rejected at the collection site.

Household hazardous materials that may be disposed of for free include the following:

  • Oil-based paints
  • Solvents
  • Antifreeze
  • Pesticides
  • Batteries
  • Fluorescent bulbs
  • Thermometers
  • Old medication
  • Aerosols
  • Propane tanks

Contractor, EnviroServices has set an appointment deadline of Thursday, May 7, 2015.  To schedule an appointment or for more information, interested individuals are asked to contact EnviroServices at (855) 325-3222. Once an appointment is scheduled, the location for the collection will be provided.

Appointments to pick up commercial hazardous waste can also be scheduled by calling (808) 839-7222.
