The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management announced that due to insufficient staffing, the Molokaʻi Landfill will close early at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13 and each day through Saturday, May 16, 2015.
County officials say the closure is necessary for the department to ensure safe operations and meet the minimum State Department of Health operating requirements of the County’s solid waste permit.
