Wondering what to do this weekend? Maui Now staff has compiled a chronological listing of some of the island’s best events scheduled from Thursday through Sunday, June 11 through 14. Look for this information no later than every Thursday afternoon.

Some of Maui’s most talented hālau will continue to perform weekly at Lahaina Cannery Mall throughout June. The free cultural entertainment takes place center stage at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and at 1 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday.

Boursier-Mougenot

Boursier-Mougenot Exhibit Opens at Schaefer Gallery
The MACC • Schaefer International Gallery • Through July 18
A sound installation by French artist and composer Céleste Boursier-Mougenot is on exhibit. Boursier-Mougenot creates intriguing works that explore the potential of common objects as a means to compose music in a given space. Schaefer International Gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and before Castle Theater shows and during intermissions.

Heart of the Hui BrochureHeart of the Hui Student & Faculty Exhibition
Makawao • Hui No‘eau • Through July 31
Hui No‘eau will present the center’s Heart of the Hui: A Student & Faculty Exhibition celebrating and honoring the importance of art education at the hui with a space that encourages learning, creativity and experimentation.

masonDave Mason, Traffic Jam in Castle Theater June 11
Kahului • The MACC • Castle Theater • 7:30 p.m.
Dave Mason, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and co-founder of the legendary band Traffic,  will present an evening of music history. Take a journey back to the greatest days of rock with Mason’s sight and sound experience, “Traffic Jam.”

The 34th Annual Kapalua Wine & Food Festival Kicks Off

The 34th annual Kapalua Wine & Food Festival has the distinction of being the longest running event of its kind in the nation. This year, there are fourteen events that comprise the three-day festival.

pauPā‘ū Parade & Hoʻolauleʻa to Kick Off at Lahaina Town Party

The Nā Kamehameha Commemorative Pā‘ū Parade & Hoʻolauleʻa festivities will kick off at Second Friday Lahaina Town Party at 8:30 p.m. The celebration will continue with the pā‘ū parade on Saturday, June 13,  at 9:45 a.m. from Kenui Street, down Front Street to Shaw Street.

Pianist Sarah Cahill to Perform in Mākena
Keawalaʻi Congregational Church • Mākena • 7:30 p.m.
Ebb & Flow Arts will present Sarah Cahill in a free, solo piano recital, including works by rarely heard composers, including Ruth Crawford Seeger’s (Pete Seeger’s step-mother) “Preludes.” A pre-concert discussion will begin at 6:30 p.m. A meet-the-artist reception with complimentary food and beverages will follow the concert.

Five-Course Winemaker Dinner Features Celebrity Chef

Montage Kapalua Bay presents a five-course Winemaker Dinner featuring Celebrity Chef Michael Mina. As part of the Kapalua Food and Wine Festival, Chef Mina and the award-winning wineries of David Arthur Vineyards and Kosta Browne Winery team up for the culinary experience.

Sunday, June 14

In celebration of its 44th birthday, Hard Rock Cafe is ready to party like it’s 1971! Hard Rock Cafe Maui will offer 71-cent Legendary Cheese Burgers to all uniformed police, firefighters and paramedics.

Anthony Bourdain’s episode of his show “Parts Unknown” that he filmed in Maui County earlier this year, is set to air at on CNN. Maui’s own Sheldon Simeon, the executive chef at Mala Wailea and Migrant Maui restaurants Tweeted that he was, “blessed and honored to share some food with @bourdain.”

Second Diana Ross Show Added for Maui

With ticket for Ross’ Maui performance on June 14 nearly sold-out, Rick Bartalini Presents has announced a second show for the legendary artist on June 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Castle Theater at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.
