The state Department of Forestry and Wildlife announced the results of its lottery for participation in the 2015 Lānaʻi mouflon sheep hunting season.

The 64 page document identifies individuals selected, those on standby, and what type of hunt is permitted.

The 2015 mouflon sheep hunting season on Lāna‘i, runs from July 25 to Oct. 18th and consist of four hunts including the following:

  • Archery Only Hunt: will be held over eight consecutive days, beginning July 25, 2015 and ending on Aug. 1, 2015;
  • Special Youth Hunt: will be conducted for one weekend on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 8 and 9, 2015;
  • Muzzleloading Hunt: will be conducted for one weekend on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 15 and 16, 2015; and
  • General Rifle Hunt: will be held over nine consecutive weekends on Saturday and Sunday, beginning on Aug. 22, 2015 and ending on Oct. 18, 2015.

The bag limit for the 2015 Lānaʻi mouflon sheep season will be three mouflon sheep (one ewe, one non-typical ram and one of either sex) per hunter per authorized hunt.
