Travaasa Experiential Resorts has appointed David MacIlwraith to general manager at Travaasa Hāna, on Maui’s eastern shore. He will oversee all Hāna-based operations for Travaasa.

“We are thrilled David MacIlwraith has joined our leadership team in this important position,” said Adam Hawthorne, president of Travaasa Experiential Resorts. “Along with his extensive hospitality and business experience, his track record of success in Hawaiʻi makes him uniquely qualified to be the steward of Travaasa Hāna as we invest in developing the physical property to meet the high standards already being set by the team.”

Before relocating to the Hawaiian Islands, he was general manager at Death Valley National Park. Preceding that position, he worked in business development for the National Park concession companies. He also worked for Vail Resorts in project and asset management.

MacIlwraith now lives in Hāna with his wife and 11-year-old son. He enjoys spending time with family, running and other outdoor activities.
