Police Seek Help in Jewelry Theft from Wailea Hotel Room

Maui police are seeking the public’s help in a theft investigation involving the use of a stolen hotel room key to obtain jewelry from a hotel room in Wailea.

Maui Crime Stoppers reports that the room key was left at a restaurant at The Shops at Wailea on Saturday, July 25, 2015.

The organization reports that the key was later believed to be used to steal a watch and two rings (pictured here) from a guest room in Wailea.  The items were reported missing from the room on Sunday, July 26, 2015.

The Maui Police Department is looking for assistance.  Maui Crime Stoppers and the jewelry owners are offering a rewards.

Anyone with information who would like to report anonymously is asked to call Maui Crime Stoppers at (808) 242-6966.  Neighbor Island residents can call toll free at 1-888-242-6966.

The public is advised to consider all wanted persons as dangerous. Do not approach, follow or take other action that could put you in danger. Anyone with information may also call Detective Sam Gasmen (808) 875-5411.

Maui Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of people responsible for felony crimes; the recovery of stolen property or seizure of illegal drugs in felony cases; or the capture of felony fugitives.
