Lions Clubs Invite Public to Children’s Dignity Week Event

Maui Lions Club and Mauna Kahalawai Lions Club Branch invites the community to a special international service event on Aug. 30, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lahaina Cannery Mall.
The Children’s Dignity Week event benefitting youth in the community brings Lions around the world together to share in service activities that promote the dignity of the most vulnerable members of society—children.
Parents and children of all ages are invited to attend this free event.
Children’s Dignity Week is a great opportunity for residents to learn more about the Maui Lions Club and Mauna Kahalawai Lions Club Branch, its work and opportunities to get involved.
“We want to share the great things we’re doing in the community, and let others know how they can help,” said Maui Lions Club President Jackie Yamamoto.
The event will include free entertainment, a keiki identification program, vision screenings, blood pressure readings and safety information from county services.
Children’s Dignity Week is a special Lions Worldwide Week of Service event that will kick off Aug. 30 as part of the celebration of Lions Clubs International’s Centennial, giving Lions from around the world an opportunity to take part in Lions Clubs International’s Centennial goal of serving 100 million people by the group’s 100th anniversary.
