The National Weather Service has cancelled the Flood Advisory that was in effect for the island of Maui.  Forecasters with the NWS say weather radar and rain gauges show that the heavy rains have diminished.

The National Weather Service issued a Flood Advisory for Maui, in effect until 3:15 p.m.

NWS forecasters say radar at 12:10 p.m. showed a line of heavy rain extending from ʻUlupalakua to Hāmoa, and affecting the south slopes of Haleakalā.

ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW AD

Forecasters estimate possible rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches.

Other locations in the advisory include, but are not limited to, Wailea, Nāhiku, Keʻanae and Hāna.

This advisory may need to be extended if heavy rain persists.
