The Maui Economic Development Board will offer a new workshop, “Just the Facts: Using US Census Demographic Data to Build a Business Plan,” on Friday, Oct. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. in Ste. 5 of the MEDB Malcolm Center in Kīhei.

The seminar, presented by Data Dissemination Specialist Jerry Wong, will provide a hands-on look at three apps available from the US Census Bureau to give small businesses and startups the edge they need to explore the demographics of potential markets.

The recently released Census Business Builder, Census Reporter and OnTheMap can work together to obtain the data needed to create and/or refocus a business plan.

Attendees will also learn how the American Community Survey can provide useful information to assess the past and plan for the future.
