The Shops at Wailea Implements New Parking Validation System
By Wendy Osher
In response to customer and tenant input, The Shops at Wailea is changing its parking program to offer a new parking validation system.
Under the new system that launches on Oct. 1, 2015 customers will be able to park free for the first hour. Customers can also receive one complimentary validation for an additional two hours with a minimum purchase of $25 at retail locations with the center.
According to the company website, there is a $3 per half hour charge or a maximum $40.00 per day charge, with no overnight parking. Lost tickets will also result in a $40 charge.
Motorists should visit any of five Pay Stations throughout the property before heading to their vehicle to exit. There is a 20 minute grace period from time of receipt of exit ticket to exit gate.
Management announced the changes today saying that customers will also have the opportunity to win parking passes and shopping sprees during the month of October.
“This program is being implemented to assist with monitoring cars that are not parking to shop at the center,” the announcement said. “This means customers will have more open parking for their shopping needs.”
According to the announcement, “parking ambassadors” will be available throughout the center and in the parking lot to assist individuals with exiting from the parking lots and answering any questions they may have.
The Shops at Wailea will implement a separate validation program for events happening at the center.
