    Looking Ahead

    Our northerly winds are becoming easterly today and Thursday and are expected to continue through the weekend. Stable conditions are expected with showers favoring windward and mauka areas in the nights and mornings.

     
    Today
    Today we expect partly sunny skies in Maui County with just a few scattered showers for windward spots. High temperatures from 81° to 86°. Northeast winds are expected from 5 to 15 mph.

    Tonight 
    Northeast winds are expected this evening from 5 to 15 mph. Low temperatures from 73° to 78°. Mostly cloudy skies are expected in the evening with increasing showers for windward areas at night and isolated showers in leeward areas.

    Meteorologist Malika Dudley
    Malika was born and raised in Hilo. She began her career in news at KGMB9 in 2007. As a part of the Hawaii News Now weather team, Malika was nominated for two Emmy Awards for excellence in weather reporting and won the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Journalism Award for her reporting on Hawaii’s tsunami damage in 2011. In 2019, Malika was recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists Hawaii Chapter in the category of Science Reporting for her Big Island Now news report on what was happening beneath the sea surface at the ocean entry of the Puna lava flow.
