The public is invited to attend the Maui Disability Alliance’s 19th Annual Legislative Forum panel discussion on Oct. 28, 2015, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Velma McWayne Community Center in Wailuku.

Members of the community are invited to participate with Maui’s policymakers, individuals with disabilities, family members, service providers and other advocates to discuss five important issues: mental health, education, employment, housing and transportation.

The free event will start with refreshments and the opportunity to network with other disability advocates, followed by the moderated question-and-answer session with each topic’s group panel.

The Maui Disability Alliance is comprised of 36 public, private, government and nonprofit agencies, the community at large and state-level organizations that are working to bring community and political awareness of issues impacting persons with disabilities and to effect positive change.

Questions or concerns regarding the five topics can be emailed in advance.

For more information or to request special accommodations, call Rob Tarver at (808) 984-8218 or email [email protected] by Friday, Oct. 16, 2015. Requests for access accommodations received after the deadline may not be met.
