Four Seasons Resort Maui Hosts 26th Day of Hope, Nov. 14
The Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea hosts its 26th Annual Day of Hope fundraiser Run/Walk on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, with proceeds to benefit the American Cancer Society, Pacific Cancer Foundation, and Kapiolani Medical Center.
The day will conclude with a traditional Hawaiian canoe ceremony to commemorate loved ones lost to cancer.
The day’s events start at 7 a.m., with a 10K Run / 5K Run and Walk along scenic Wailea Alanui. The route continues on to the Resort’s Ocean Front Lawn and Wailea Beach.
The run/walk is followed by a breakfast buffet on the Ocean Front Lawn, where Master of Ceremonies and news anchor Howard “Dash” Dashefsky, will preside over the morning’s events.
The event includes a live auction featuring deluxe packages at various resorts and hotels.
Locks of Love will be on hand to lop off pony tails of 10 inches or longer to be made into real-hair wigs for children going through cancer treatment. Those who donate their hair will be treated to a haircut at The Salon at Four Seasons Resort Maui.
Children ages 3 to 12 years are invited to participated in the Keiki Dash on Wailea Beach.
Last year, the Resort donated more than $54,000 during the annual Day of Hope festivities.
“The Day of Hope gives us a special opportunity to join forces with the community,” said General Manager Jean Claude Wietzel in an event announcement. “We are proud to be part of this fight.”
Pre-registration is $40. On Nov. 12 and 13, registration is $50. Race-day registration is $60.
A complimentary shuttle service will run from the grassy lawn at the top of Wailea Ike Drive to Wailea Beach before and after the race.
