Lead teaching instructor for the Kapalua Golf Academy, Ben Hongo, was recently ranked #2 in Hawaiʻi’s “The Best Teachers In Your State (2015-2016)” in Golf Digest’s annual peer ranking, according to an announcement today by representatives at Kapalua Golf Courses.

In addition, former Kapalua Golf Academy instructors, Claude Brousseau and Gregory Fields, made the list as well as #3 and #4 respectively.

“Ben is very deserving of the recognition as one of the best golf instructors in the State of Hawaiʻi,” said Mike Jones, General Manager and Director of Golf for Kapalua Golf Courses and Troon Golf.

“Being recognized by his peers in the industry is a great testament to the tremendous work Ben has done with the teaching programs at Kapalua Golf. Ben and the entire Kapalua Teaching Staff are one of the reasons why the Kapalua Golf Academy is annually ranked among the best in Hawaiʻi and what makes Kapalua a great golf resort,” said Jones.
