Wailuku Man Dies in Stabbing Incident, Arrest Made
A Wailuku woman is being held in lieu of $1 million bail for her alleged involvement in a stabbing on Sunday that resulted in the death of a Maui man.
The incident was reported at 11:21 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015 at a residence in Wailuku.
Wailuku patrol officers were called to the scene for reports of a stabbing.
A police investigation revealed that the 57-year-old male victim, later identified as David Kecxon of Wailuku, sustained a stab wound in the incident.
He was treated by medics on scene and was transported to the Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition, where he later died.
According to police reports, the female suspect, identified as 32-year-old Taliah Nelson of Wailuku, allegedly fled the scene and was later apprehended on Lower Main Street, Wailuku.
Police say she was initially arrested for suspicion of second degree attempted murder, but was later charged with second degree murder.
She was being held in lieu of $1 million bail at last report. Police say an investigation is ongoing.
