Hoʻokipa Pavilions, Keōkea Community Center to Close Monday

The County of Maui Department of Parks and Recreation announced that the Hoʻokipa Beach Park pavilions and the Keōkea Park Community Center will close on Monday, Nov. 30, 2015 for roof replacement.

At Hoʻokipa, the existing roof on each of the three pavilions will be removed, and will be replaced with a new glass fiber mat base, shingle roof. The work will be done by Pinnacle Roofing, and is expected to be completed by Friday, Dec. 11, 2015.

The Keōkea Park Community Center work will be done by Maui Roofing, and includes removal of the existing wood shake roof, and replacing it with new roofing material, including metal flashings. Work is expected to be completed by Friday, Dec. 4, 2015.

At both locations, the public is asked to avoid construction areas and equipment to ensure public safety. Park closure signs are posted to inform the public of the construction.
