Island Air Celebrates “12 Days of Christmas” Hawaiian Style

Island Air is celebrating the holiday season of giving with the popular “12 Days of Christmas,” Hawaiian Style song and give-a-ways.

As the song goes, “Numbah one day of Christmas my tūtū gave to me, one mynah bird in one papaya tree…”

Passengers flying on Island Air from Dec. 13 to 24 are in store for some special surprises. For example, on “numbah five day of Christmas,” those flying in and out of the Honolulu International Airport will be treated to “five big fat pigs” in the form of kalua pork sliders from Bruddah’s Wagon.

When it’s time for some hula lessons on the sixth day of Christmas, passengers will enjoy entertainment by the Pae Moku Trio.

There will also be treats and goody giveaways from local companies like shortbread cookies from the Honolulu Cookie Company, poi from Taro Brand, tickets to Bishop Museum and dinner for four at the Oceanarium at Pacific Beach Hotel.

“It’s the season of giving and we’re excited to spread some holiday cheer with our passengers during the most wonderful time of the year,” said Dave Pflieger, Island Air CEO.

On Dec. 22 –“numbah 10 day of Christmas” – passengers that check in with a can of Spam will receive their first checked bag for free. Island Air employees are also contributing to the food drive, where items will be donated to the foodbanks in Honolulu, on Lāna‘i and Maui.

Recently Island Air announced the release of its Travel Paks. The Island Travel Pak offers travelers two different interisland coupon packages to fit the needs of both leisure and business travelers. For leisure travelers, the Holoholo package provides six one-way coupons for an introductory price of $429. For business travelers, the Ka ‘Elele package provides 20 one-way coupons for an introductory price of $1,499. Travelers who purchase two Island Travel Paks will be entered into a random drawing to win a big screen television on the 12th Day of Christmas, Dec. 24.
