Maui police responded to 20 burglaries, 10 vehicle thefts, and 13 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period, between Jan. 17 to 23, 2016.

Of the 10 vehicle thefts, two of the vehicles have since been recovered.  The incidents were reported in Kīhei, Wailuku, Kahului, Lahaina, Pāʻia, Māʻalaea and Makawao.

Burglary incidents were up to 20 from the 15 incidents reported the week before. The greatest number of burglaries reported were in Kīhei and Wailuku where four incidents were reported at each location over seven days.

Vehicle break-ins were down significantly to 13, from 29 incidents reported the week before.  The greatest number was in Kahului with four incidents reported at the location.

  • Tuesday, Jan. 19, 7:17 p.m.: 400 block of Hoʻolawa Rd.  Residential, forced entry.
  • Thursday, Jan. 21, 2:32 a.m.: 100 block of Paʻuwela Rd.  Non-residential, forced entry.

Kīhei:

  • Monday, Jan. 18, 4:44 p.m.: 2463 S Kīhei Rd at Denny’s Kīhei. Non-residential, unlawful entry.
  • Thursday, Jan. 21, 8:05 a.m.: 200 block of Kuli Puʻu St.  Residential, attempted entry.
  • Thursday, Jan. 21, 10:51 a.m.: 100 block of Kuli Puʻu St. Residential, forced entry.
  • Thursday, Jan. 21, 11:04 a.m.: 115 E Līpoa St. Non-residential, forced entry.

Lahaina:

  • Monday, Jan. 18, 8:53 a.m.: 705 Front St. Non-residential, forced entry.
  • Tuesday, Jan. 19, 7:30 a.m.: 245 Shaw St at the County of Maui Lahaina Skate Park. Non-residential, forced entry.
  • Saturday, Jan. 23, 12:30 a.m.: 1300 block of Hoapili St.  Residential, attempted entry.

Lānaʻi:

  • Monday, Jan. 18, 3:25 p.m.: 717 Fraser Ave at the Lānaʻi Youth Center. Non-residential, unlawful entry.
  • Wednesday, Jan. 20, 3:49 p.m.: 1000 block of Houston St. Residential, forced entry.
  • Wednesday, Jan. 20, 5:45 p.m.: 1000 block of Houston St. Non-residential, unlawful entry.
