The Kīpahulu Visitor Center in East Maui will close on Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 3 and 4, 2016 so structural repairs can be made to a ceiling beam.

Park officials say the beam will be reinforced by a pole. A permanent repair will be made to the beam at a later date pending evaluation from a structural engineer.

Park staff will be available outside of the visitor center and on trails to provide park information.

Both the visitor center and the lānai will be closed while the repairs are made. The restrooms, trails, and campground will remain open.
