Hale Kau Kau, in conjunction with Kīhei Lutheran Church, Trinity by the Sea Episcopal Church and Ke‘olahou Church, will host their 25th Annual Hale Kau Kau Fundraiser on Friday, March 4, 2016, from 4 to 10 p.m. at the Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui.

Hale Kau Kau, located at St. Theresa’s Church in Kīhei, is a nonprofit meal program for the hungry, less fortunate and elderly who are home-bound, sick and disabled in South Maui.

Each year, Hale Kau Kau holds a fundraiser that provides approximately 40% of the annual budget for this vital Maui program.

Once again, organizers have planned a fun and exciting evening filled with community, ‘ohana, music and dancing, a dinner buffet, and live and silent auctions.

Individual tickets are $130 and may be purchased at St. Theresa’s Business Office at 25 West Līpoa St. or after each scheduled St. Theresa’s mass.

“Hale Kau Kau provides a nutritious evening meal 365 days a year, regardless of rain, shine or high surf,” quipped Paul Corrarito, St. Theresa Church business manager. “We have a wonderful ‘ohana of volunteers, who generously give their time, talent and compassion for those in need.”

Last year, Hale Kau Kau served over 57,900 meals.

“As much as Hale Kau Kau would like to one day go out of business, the need for our services has not diminished,” said Corrarito. “Since the inception of the program, Hale Kau Kau has served over a million meals.”

In order to fund the program, the nonprofit relies on the generosity of the Maui community and its supporters around the globe.

Donations are appreciated and accepted anytime at the Hale Kau Kau office located on the campus of St. Theresa Church. Donations can be sent to Hale Kau Kau, C/O St. Theresa Church, 25 West Līpoa, Kīhei, HI 96753. Donations can also be accepted after each mass. All forms of payment are accepted—cash, check or credit card.

Supporters can also help by advertising in the Hale Kau Kau 16th Annual Fundraiser Program Book or by donating an item for the event’s silent or live auctions.

Information about ads and commitments for auction items is available by calling St. Theresa’s Business Office at (808) 875-8754.

Hale Kau Kau is always in need of volunteers to work in the kitchen or to drive one of its six routes to the homebound.

Hale Kau Kau would like to express a big mahalo and sincere appreciation for all those who have volunteered, and to those who have already made contributions and commitments to making this year’s fundraiser “the best event ever.”

“Thank you in advance to all who are planning to attend and support our upcoming fundraiser,” said event organizers.
