Hawai‘i State House of Representatives Candidate Deidre Tegarden (District 11, Kīhei, Wailea, Mākena) hosted a gathering of supporters Wednesday evening, March 16, at the opening of her campaign headquarters at Azeka Makai in Kīhei.

The event began outdoors with a traditional blessing officiated by Rev. Juddee Kawaiola and the untying of a maile lei.

Guests then entered the candidate’s headquarters to talk story with Tegarden and neighbors accompanied by music provided by Gene Argel.

Pūpū were provided by Nalu’s South Shore Grill and volunteers; Linda Axe brought specialty desserts.

“I am so grateful for the support my campaign is receiving,” Tegarden said. “It is humbling and energizing all at the same time.”
