AARP Free Movies for Grownups: ‘The Big Short’
AARP Hawaii Movies for Grownups will feature The Big Short at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, in the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s McCoy Studio Theater.
Based on the true story by best-selling author Michael Lewis (Moneyball, Liar’s Poker and Flash Boys, among others), The Big Short is the true story about a handful of investors who bet against the US mortgage market in 2006-07.
These four outsiders envisioned what the big banks, media and government refused to see—the global collapse of the economy—and they had an idea: The Big Short.
Their bold investment leads them into the dark underbelly of modern banking, where they must question everyone and everything.
