The Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset invites the public to learn more about the Maui Friends of the Library bookmobile through a presentation by MFOL Director Sara Foley and President John Tryggestad.

Foley and Tryggestad will unveil the Holoholo Bookmobile’s design and talk about the services it will provide for the entire island.

They will also discuss the rich history of MFOL, a nonprofit formed 104 years ago to support Maui County libraries.

In 2012, both Foley and Tryggestad served as volunteer “general contractors and jack-of-all trades experts” for the modernization of the Lahaina Public Library.

The state of Hawai‘i recognized their efforts, along with 21 professional contractors, for the $300,000 modernization that was completed without public funding.

The Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset’s community speaker series takes place during club meetings, which are held on the first, third and fifth Tuesday of the month at the Royal Lahaina Resort, Kā‘anapali, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
