Maui Medical Group Welcomes Four New Physicians
The Maui Medical Group announced their newest health care practitioner appointments to their Urologist, Internal Medicine, Otolaryngologist and Pediatrics teams. The four physicians join the over 75 healthcare practitioners at Maui Medical Group, one of the county’s largest multi-specialty healthcare providers serving Maui County since 1961.
Soren N. Carlsen, MD, Urologist: He received his medical degree at University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine, and completed his residency medical training in general surgery and urology at the same school. Prior to joining Maui Medical Group, he had his own private practice in Bellingham, WA; and was one of two doctors at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center who specialized in Urology. Specialize interests include no-needle/no-knife/no-stitch vasectomies, minimally invasive surgery and female urology, including in continence and prolapse treatments. Dr. Carlsen is Board Certified in Urology.
Daniel Chevy, MD, Internal Medicine: He received his medical degree from Florida State University College of Medicine in 2010 and completed his residency training at Yale New Haven Health-Greenwich Hospital in Greenwich, CT. Prior to joining Maui Medical Group, he practiced as an Outpatient Internal Medicine Physician with Foundation Medical Partners–Downtown Medical Associates in Nashua, NH.
Marc D. Rosenthal, MD, Otolaryngologist: He graduated from the University of Florida in 1995 and received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Miami in 1999. Dr. Rosenthal completed his Otolaryngology residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA; and gained additional pediatric training at the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE. He specializes in allergy and minimally invasive surgery for management of diseases of the nose and paranasal sinuses, including Balloon Sinuplasty, a less invasive alternative to traditional sinus surgery. Dr. Rosenthal is Board Certified in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and Board Eligible in Sleep Medicine.
Coral Yap, DO, FAAP, Pediatrics: She received her medical degree in Osteopathy at Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo, CA; and completed her residency training at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine Pediatric Residency Program in Honolulu, HI. Prior to joining Maui Medical Group, she worked on Oahu primarily at the Children’s Hospital, Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children, while serving as the residency program’s chief resident. Dr. Yap is Board Certified in Pediatrics and works in their Pukalani clinic.
Maui Medical Group offers five clinics on the island of Maui located in Wailuku, Lahaina, Pukalani, Kīhei, and their newest clinic in Kahului.
