Maui Surf Forecast
North: Wave heights are expected to be around waist/chest/shoulder high on the sets for spots around Hana.
West: Surf is ankle/knee high today. The best breaks could get up to knee/waist high out of the south-southwest. On the sets we could see tummy/chest high waves.
South: Surf is around knee/waist high today. The best breaks could be a bit bigger from time to time.
Our current small south-southwest lingers into the next few days. Just small pulses of southerly energy for the Hawaiian Islands through at least mid-month.
Trade swell will hold over the next couple of days. Nothing major expected out of the North or East Pacific through the first week of August. Tropical Storm Howard has potential to generate swell for this weekend. Will keep an eye on it.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
