South: Surf is around knee/waist high today.

Screen Shot 2016-08-11 at 8.58.11 PMOnly trace amounts of swell today out of the south. Chances are looking better that a swell will line up around the 16th.

Omais (near Japan) has generated a very small swell for westerly spots and will be shifting out of the northwest on Friday as it begins to fade. Conson (east of Mariana Islands) isn’t looking like a wave maker for us. Models are showing activity in the West Pacific so there is potential there for swell energy out of that region.

Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
