Maui Brewing Co. Releases Two “New” Beers for a Limited Time
For the month of September, Maui Brewing Co. is releasing two “new” beers, both which will be available for a limited time.
The Blood Orange Lorenzini DIPA is back by popular demand. The name comes from “Ampullae of Lorenzini,” a shark’s electro-sensory organ used to detect changes in electric fields.
This American Double IPA (8.0% ABV and 78 IBUs) is brewed with local citrus and blood orange juice. The hop profile lends heavy citrus and hop aromas, and a big hop flavor balanced with the fruitiness of blood oranges.
“There is no need to have a sixth sense to enjoy this fan favorite beer. We’ve brewed a very limited batch of this juicy Double IPA to help beat the summer heat. Hunt it down quickly before others do,” says brewing supervisor Matt Ponichtera.
Blood Orange Lorenzini Double IPA will be available in the Kīhei Tasting Room and the Lahaina Brewpub beginning Sept. 1.
To celebrate the launch, both locations will offer a one-day special IPA flight including Blood Orange Lorenzini DIPA, Double Overhead DIPA, Slippah SIPA and Mosaic Mo’Betta IPA.
Blood Orange Lorenzini Double IPA will also be available in 4-pack cans and draft in markets that carry Maui Brewing Co.
The Liquid Breadfruit Ale is also available this month.
Maui Brewing Co. has partnered with Dogfish Head Craft Brewery for the arrival of “Liquid Breadfruit,” brewed with toasted papaya seeds to give mild bitterness, and notes of pink peppercorn and ‘ulu (breadfruit) to lend rich tropical fruit character with hints of fresh baked bread.
“Maui is truly one of the most beautiful places in the world,” says Sam Calagione, president and founder of Dogfish Head Craft Brewery. “The sights, the sounds, the scents, and the people make it like no place on earth. Dogfish Head is proud of our collaboration with Maui Brewing Co. on Liquid Breadfruit. Our use of indigenous breadfruit, toasted papaya seeds and an experimental hops come together in a tropical triangle that makes this beer like nothing else on earth. As enticing and memorable as the island itself.”
Liquid Breadfruit Imperial Golden Ale will be available in the Kīhei Tasting Room beginning Sept. 16. It will be available in one pint 9.4 fluid ounce (25.4 fl.oz.) glass bottles in the Hawai‘i local market for a limited time.
