A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for the island of Maui, in effect until Wednesday afternoon.

The National Weather Service says a combination of abundant moisture and an upper level disturbance could trigger heavy rains and thunderstorms through Wednesday.

As a precaution, campers and hikers should consider rescheduling their outing to a time when more favorable weather is expected.
