Emergency Sewer Repairs on Lono Ave

The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management will be making emergency sewer repairs along Lono Avenue between Vevau Street and Kamehameha Avenue starting at 6 p.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016.

Repairs are expected to take up to 14 hours to complete and the area is expected to be reopened to traffic at around 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016.

During this time, motorist traffic will be closed along Lono Avenue between Vevau Street and West Kamehameha Avenue. One lane will remain open along West Kamehameha near the Lono intersection.

Also during the time of repairs the Maui Bus will not be picking riders up at the bus stop located on the back end of Kahului Shopping Center, along West Kamehameha Avenue.

Drivers are asked to obey all traffic signs and instructions from work crews when approaching the area, plan accordingly and drive with caution.
