Pīpīwai Trail Reopens After September Storm

The upper half-mile of the Pīpīwai Trail in the Kīpahulu District of Haleakalā National Park, including the viewpoint for Waimoku Falls, is now open to visitors.
The upper trail has been closed since September 2016 due to severe storm damage.
All trails in the park are considered moderately challenging.
Sturdy shoes are recommended for hiking. Always bring water, sunscreen and stay on trail to protect fragile ecosystems and stay safe.
