Public Hearings Focus on Water Projects on Hawaiian Homelands

The State Commission on Water Resource Management will hold public hearings to receive testimony on proposed updates to the State Water Projects Plan.

The plan identifies future water demands and source strategies for water projects across the state with this round of meetings to focus on water projects for the Department of Hawaiian Homelands.

Meetings are slated for Wednesday, Jan. 11 on Molokaʻi at the Mitchel Pauʻole Community Center and on Thursday, Jan. 12 on Maui at the Velma McWayne Santos Community Center. Both meetings start at 6 p.m.

A public review draft of the State Water Projects Plan is available online at the CWRM website: http://www.hawaii.gov/dlnr/cwrm/.  The public review draft may also be reviewed at the CWRM office at the Kalanimoku Building, Room 227, 1151 Punchbowl Street, Honolulu, Hawaiʻi 96813.
