Lady Lunas Advance to Semis in State Basketball Championships

Snapple Girls Basketball State Championships.

The Lahainaluna Lunas defeated Mililani 54-46 in the Division I Snapple Girls Basketball State Championships.  The Number 3 Lunas advance to play Number 2 Maryknoll in the Semi-finals at 5 p.m. tonight at the Neil Blaisdell Center.

In the Division II bracket, the Lānaʻi Pinelasses defeated the Kohala Cowgirls 60-59, advancing in the consolation bracket to play Hawaiʻi Baptist at 11 a.m. today. (*UPDATE 1:35 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 2017: Hawaiʻi Baptist Eagles defeated the Pinelasses 60-17.)

Maui’s Kamehameha School Maui Warriors and the Seabury Hall Spartans fell to their challengers in respective games on Thursday. (*UPDATE 3:37 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 2017: Farrington, 47, KS-Maui 33) (*UPDATE: 8:20 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 2017: Moanalua 63 – Seabury 33)
