Maui Nui Botanical Gardens to Hold Kō Workshop

Maui Nui Botanical Gardens, in partnership with Hale Ho‘ike‘ike (Bailey House Museum), will host its “Hawaiian Sugarcane Workshop” on Saturday, March 4, from 9 a.m. to noon.
Dr. Noa Lincoln will teach participants how to identify Hawaiian varieties of kō, discuss their role in traditional Hawaiian agriculture and share planting techniques.
This will be followed by a varietal tasting of fresh-squeezed sugarcane juice comparing different cultivars.
