Maui Mall to Host 1st Annual Best Buddies Block Party
Maui Mall will host the first annual Best Buddies Block Party at Maui Mall, on Saturday, March 4, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Families are invited to enjoy a day of fun and entertainment to help spread awareness about the Best Buddies program.
Best Buddies school chapters will be hosting booths with fun activities such as: lei making, hula lessons, scavenger hunt, balloon animals, carnival games, coloring station and keiki activities.
PATCH Hawaiʻi will be giving all keiki in attendance a free book, and Aunty Jo-Anne with Read-Aloud America will make a special appearance with trivia and storytelling for all. Attendees are also invited to spread the word to end the word on Best Buddies Positive Message Wall.
Center Stage entertainment throughout the day includes: Zumba with Keoni’s Hot Lava DanceFit Studio, bingo with over $500 in prizes, testimonies from members of the Best Buddies Hawaiʻi program and a Tahitian Dance Performance with Dance International Productions.
All Best Buddies Block Party proceeds will support Best Buddies Hawaiʻi and their Maui County high school and intermediate school student programs at Baldwin High School, King Kekaulike High School, Lahainaluna High School, Maui High School, Seabury Hall, ʻĪao Intermediate, Lokelani Intermediate and Maui Waena Intermediate.
Established in 1989 by Anthony Kennedy Shriver, Best Buddies is a worldwide volunteer organization that creates one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
