Kamehameha Schools Maui will host their 13th Annual Hoʻolauleʻa on Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The event is powered by the Parent Teacher Student ʻOhana group, and works to raise thousands of dollars to support enrichment experiences that are not funded by Kamehameha Schools Maui.
The entertainment lineup includes: Sister Robi Kahakalau; John Cruz; Brother Noland; Kamakakehau Fernandez; Mike Kaʻawa; Kamehameha Schools; Hālau Kekuaokalāʻauʻalaʻiliahi; MS ʻUkulele; Hawaiian Ensemble; Ka Pā Hula ʻo ʻAʻapueo; and Emcee Alakaʻi Paleka.
Silent Auction/Grade Level Participation:
Ke Kula Haʻahaʻa – Elementary School*: 2 silent auction items per grade, $40 to $50 per item.
KeKula Waena – Middle School*: 4 silent auction items per grade, $40 to $50 per item.
Ke Kula Kiʻekiʻe – High School* (grades 9, 11 and 12): 5 silent auction itmes, $40 to $50 per item.
Host Class – Grade 10: 2 items per student, $25 per item.
*The number of items is determined by the total number of students per grade level.
2016-2017 Grant Awardees Funded by Hoʻolauleʻa 2016:
A total of 15 grants were awarded for a combined $47,214 from funds raised during the 2016 Hoʻolauleʻa. A breakdown is as follows:
ES Good News Club $375; ES First Lego League $150; MS KSM Robotics $214; MS 40 Book Challenge-Dean $300; MS 40 Book Challenge-Nishimitsu $300; MS Papa ʻIliahi Bonus Bucks $600; HS Ola Nā Iwi-Toronto, Canada $2,500; HS Huakaʻihele-Japan $9,250; HS Journalism-Seattle, WA $875; HS A4E Club $300; HS Life Skills Club $350; Hawaiian Ensemble-New Zealand $8,000; KAPF-Scholarship $3,000; Class of 2015-Project Graduation $20,000; and Kapikohānaiāmālama (All School Resource Garden) $1,000.
