The Maui County Department of Public Works Highways Division, Pavement Preservation Section, will be conducting a slurry seal and restriping project on Nāpilihau Street in Nāpili beginning Monday, June 5, 2017.

The project, which is expected to be completed by Friday, June 16, 2017, will be split into four phases and will require lane closures and detours. Motorists are asked to follow all traffic control signs and flag personnel.

During work hours (Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather-permitting), traffic will flow in one direction on Nāpilihau Street down (makai) toward Lower Honoapiʻilani Road; traffic coming from Lower Honoapiʻilani Road will not be allowed to turn onto Nāpilihau Street from either direction.

As the project moves along Nāpilihau Street, access to homes in the subdivision will alternate between Hanawai Street and Kohi Street. Access to Nāpili Plaza will also alternate between the entrances on Nāpilihau and Hanawai streets. Residents at Nāpili Villas and Nāpili Villages will need to use the alternate entrance and exit on Honoapiʻilani Highway.
