Maui Farm Benefits from Nā Holo Wahine Run

The Maui Farm received a donation of $1,000 from the proceeds of the 38th Annual Woman’s “Nā Holo Wahine” run which was held on May 6, at Keopuolani Park.

The Maui Farm says the funds will support the farm’s Family Strengthening Program, to provide transitional housing and life skills training for Maui families who have been displaced due to domestic violence and economic challenges, and offering support towards self-sufficiency.

“The Maui Farm cannot be successful in our work without the support of our community”, said Executive Director Paula Ambre. “We are honored by the opportunity to partner with Valley Isle Road Runners, Maui’s non-profit running club since 1970, in continuing to offer Nā Holo Wahine for women and girls to challenge themselves through running and walking.”

“The Maui Farm is doing wonderful things for displaced families, providing an environment to learn and turn their lives around for the positive. To be able to help in some small way to support such a remarkable community organization is truly an honor,” said Jim Lynch, Vice President of Valley Isle Road Runners.

The Maui Farm provides farm-based, family-centered residential and educational programs that teach essential life skills for self-sufficient living.
