Maui Deputy Prosecutor Appointed to National District Attorneys Association
Maui County Deputy Prosecutor Richard Minatoya was recently appointed as Associate Director for the National District Attorney’s Associations Board of Directors. The appointment took place earlier this month during the 2017 NDAA Board of Directors Meeting in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
“We are very proud to have someone from Maui County representing us,” said Maui County Prosecutor John Kim. “The NDAA meets regularly with the Department of Justice, members of Congress and other national association to represent the views of prosecutors in crafting of federal and national policies and programs that affect law enforcement and county prosecutors. Having a Richard’s voice in a leadership position can only benefit us locally.”
The NDAA is the largest prosecutor organization in the country, comprised of over 5000 elected and appointed District Attorneys and Assistant District Attorneys.
Minatoya has been with the Maui County Department of the Prosecuting Attorney for over 13 years, and has been a practicing attorney for over 24 years. He also serves as the Maui County member of the Hawaiʻi Advisory Council on Emergency Management.
