Kapoi Named HMSA New Neighbor Island Regional Director
The Hawai‘i Medical Service Association today announced the appointment of Maui’s Karey Kapoi as the health plan’s new Neighbor Island regional director.
Plan representatives say the position will help to expand its service to communities on Hawai‘i Island, Kauaʻi, Maui, Lānaʻi, and Molokaʻi.
In her new capacity, Kapoi’s primary responsibility will be expanding HMSA’s community partnerships on the Neighbor Islands and supporting HMSA teams in Hilo, Kailua-Kona, Kahului, and Līhue.
“HMSA provides affordable access to the best doctors and hospitals. That’s earned the company the respect of communities throughout the state,” said Kapoi. “My job is to build on that foundation and help make new connections in the community that will benefit our members, employers, and providers.”
Kapoi is a former assistant administrator and chief communications officer of the Maui region of Hawaiʻi Health Systems Corporation. She grew up and currently resides on the island of Maui.
