The Shops at Wailea Celebrates July 4th with Jazz Concert
The Shops at Wailea will celebrate the 4th of July with Jazz at The Shops concert featuring the multi-talented singer Gina Martinelli and keyboardist, Jerry Kovarsky from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the East Wing near lululemon.
Considered a Maui staple in the entertainment industry, Gina Martinelli has been performing for 25 years, showcasing her versatility as a singer of different music genres. Her vocal style, which ranges from powerful rock to sultry blues and smooth jazz, has kept her at the forefront of the music scene.
She has also appeared in musicals and is best remembered for her stand out performance as lead character in the latest run of The Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center. Gina continues to perform at various venues around the island and is gearing up to launch her Jazz CD, Afterglow, a collaboration with an all-star cast of musicians.
Performing alongside Martinelli is Jerry Kovarsky, a musician, technologist, product developer, brand manager/marketeer, and expert in the field of musical keyboards. With more than 30 years of experience in the music products industry, he is the author of Keyboard for Dummies and co-authored Piano & Keyboard for Dummies.
In a continued effort to give back to the community, The Shops at Wailea supports a different Maui non-profit each month with 60% of the special event parking fees going back to the non-profit. The non-profit recipient for the month of July is Habitat for Humanity. The Shops’ goal is to enrich the community through exploration and discovery in the arts and music while supporting local businesses and non-profit partners. The four-hour special event parking voucher is available for $5 and can be purchased at the non-profit’s parking table.
