On September 27, 2018, Hawai‘i Wildfire Management Organization (HWMO) is hosting a Vegetative Fuels Management Collaborative Action Planning Workshop to bring together a coalition of Maui professionals dealing with wildfire threats and impacts. The workshop offers the opportunity for a facilitated conversation about next step hazard reduction priorities and projects.

HWMO hopes to enhance project coordination between organizations and make use of funding opportunities toward optimal wildfire protection as a result of this workshop and statewide project. Over 35 registered attendees representing various agencies and organizations in the fields of land and resource management, fire and emergency response, planning, agricultural operations, and utilities will participate in the workshop. Senator Rosalyn Baker and Councilmember Alika Atay are planning to join, as well.
