Four Seasons Maui to Host Annual Day of Hope
Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea will hold its 29th Annual Day of Hope Run on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018. The day’s events commence at 6:30 a.m., with a 10K Run/5K Run & Walk along Wailea Alanui. The race will finish on the resort’s Ocean Front Lawn.
The resort expects to once again draw hundreds of community participants to their most highly anticipated fundraising event of the year. Proceeds benefit Pacific Cancer Foundation, Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children, and American Cancer Society Hope Lodge.
The Run & Walk is followed by a continental breakfast on the Ocean Front Lawn, where Master of Ceremonies Howard “Dash” Dashefsky, Emmy Award-winning news anchor, will preside over the morning’s events, including a presentation of prizes to the top-placing runners.
Stylists from The Salon will be cutting off ponytails to be made into real-hair “Wigs for Kids” for children going through cancer treatment. Children ages 3 to 12 years old will enjoy the Keiki Dash on Wailea Beach. The day concludes with a traditional Hawaiian canoe ceremony to commemorate loved ones lost to cancer.
“The resort proudly hosts the Day of Hope as part of the collective fight against this devastating disease that has touched so many of us,” said General Manager Marc Bromley. “It’s especially important to us that the funds we raise stay here in Hawai‘i, to assist those in need right here in our community.”
The Day of Hope is the culmination of year-around fundraising efforts of the resort’s employee volunteers. Last year, the resort donated a record-setting $90,000. This year, the resort plans to top that with a goal of $100,000.
“We are extremely grateful for the ongoing support of the Four Seasons Resort Maui,” said Dawn Dunbar, senior vice president of philanthropy at Hawai‘i Pacific Health. “We know that Four Seasons employees and volunteers truly put their heart into this fundraising effort for Kapi‘olani, and it shows. It is the Day of Hope that touches the lives of oncology patients at Kapi‘olani by funding critical programs that give women and children a fighting chance against cancer.”
Participants can register for Day of Hope at www.dayofhopemaui.com. The cost of registration is $60.
The resort’s efforts also extend to auctioning luxury accommodation packages at the following Four Seasons properties: San Francisco, Seattle, Bora Bora, Chicago, Austin, Santa Fe, Vail, New York, George V, Las Vegas, Dallas, Hualalai, Lanai, and Maui. Luxury stays at The Ritz Carlton, Half Moon Bay and Montage Laguna Beach also are up for bids.
