Maui Gas Prices Down for Thanksgiving

AAA Hawai‘i Weekend Gas Watch shows gas prices are down from last week.  Continued falling oil prices and lower production costs are the Thanksgiving holiday recipe for lower gas prices around the islands again over the past week.

Today’s statewide average price is $3.81 a gallon, which is six cents lower than last Wednesday, eight cents lower than a month ago and 63 cents more than a year ago.

In Kahului, the average price is $4.14, which is the same price as last Wednesday, one cent lower than on this date last month and 44 cents higher than on this date a year ago.

Wailuku’s average is $4.14, which is two cents lower than last Wednesday, one cent lower than on this date a month ago and 44 cents higher than on this date a year ago.

In Honolulu, today’s average price for regular is $3.67, which is seven cents lower than last Wednesday, 11 cents lower than on this date a month ago and 59 cents higher than on this date last year.

The Hilo average price is $3.86, which is down six cents from last Wednesday, eight cents more than on this date last month and 65 cents higher than on this date a year ago.

Lihue’s average price for regular is $3.99, which is four cents lower than last Wednesday, seven cents lower than on this date last month and 53 cents more than a year ago.

“Motorists can add cheaper gas prices to their list of ‘things for which to be thankful’ this Thanksgiving holiday,” said Liane Sumida, AAA Hawai‘i general manager. “These savings are beneficial for those who are driving to visit family and friends for Thanksgiving as well as those starting holiday shopping this weekend.”
