The Hawai’i Rotary Youth Foundation (HRYF) is offering scholarships to Hawai’i’s high school seniors who will be attending an accredited four-year college locally or throughout the US. Each scholarship is worth $5,000.

Each year, the HRYF picks two outstanding applicants to receive “in memorial” scholarships for $10,000 each. These scholarships are awarded in honor of HYRF founder Maurice J. “Sully” Sullivan and his wife Joanna L. Sullivan.

The Maurice J. “Sully” Sullivan scholarship is awarded to an outstanding applicant who will attend a four-year college on the mainland US. The Joanna L. Sullivan scholarship is given to a second outstanding applicant who will attend a local four-year college.

Applications are currently open for 2019 and the deadline to apply is Feb. 6. Students must be sponsored by a local Rotary club in order to apply. Recipients will be chosen based on their academic achievements, personal involvement on their high school campus, community activities, any employment experience, and a passion for continuing their education.
