Maui police responded to a reported robbery and assault on Tuesday night, Jan. 29, 2019 in Olowalu.

Police say a 24-year-old woman was camping with a male friend near Mile 13.5 when they were allegedly approached by two males at around 10 p.m.

Police say one of the males allegedly brandished a knife and threatened the two campers, claiming the female owed money.

The male suspect then assaulted the female and took her cellphone and sunglasses, according to police reports.

The two males reportedly fled in a silver-colored SUV.
